He's Safe! Billy Bundy Is Off the Streets

HE'S SAFE! ❤️
This handsome young boy had been spotted wandering around Wildomar for about a month.
I first heard about him two weeks ago while trying to catch another dog in the area. Then on Tuesday, Alexis from Feeding Perris Strays spotted him.
Of course she did. I'm convinced she has some kind of built-in doggy radar! 😂 She left him food in the same area where Julianne, a local resident, had also been seeing him.
We knew he had been spotted in this area several times, so last night I set the trap behind Julianne's home with something I hoped he couldn't resist.
I had barely made it home when my camera alerted me.
HE WAS IN THE TRAP! ❤️
Julianne confirmed it was him and covered him to keep him calm, and I headed back. To get the trap out, her husband had to dismantle part of their fence so we could carry him safely through.
He was frightened at first, but it didn't take long for him to realize he was safe.
And then came the surprise. This streetwise boy is actually just a puppy, probably around 6 to 8 months old, and an absolute sweetheart who loves human touch.
He is very underweight and has a few wounds that we will have to clean up and get the vet to check out, but otherwise he seems remarkably well considering what he has been through. We will, of course, continue trying to determine whether someone is missing him; however, he is not microchipped. A found report will be made at the shelter.
A huge thank you to Julianne of Better Together Dog Training and her husband, and to Alexis and Feeding Perris Strays for temporary foster. This is exactly what community rescue looks like.
We have named this young man Billy Bundy and will be reaching out to rescues. If you are interested in fostering to adopt, please let me know.
